TANDON REVEALS REMOVABLE WINCHESTER

On the product front, Tandon Corp has revealed plans for its first exchangeable Winchester disk drive, the 5.25 Personal Data Pack, which will come with a proprietary controller board, and inter alia is to be incorporated into a new workstation Tandon is designing for Xerox. Under the agreements between the two companies, Tandon gets a licence to Xerox system software for an 80286-based workstation that may include the microprocessor implementation of the Xerox Star processor that is being made by LSI Logic. Both partners will have rights to the 80286 workstation.
