TANDON HAS A $12M LOSS ON SALES DECLINE OF 25%

By CBR Staff Writer

A $12m loss on a sales decline of 25% from Tandon Corp (Company Results, page three) underlines the rapid deterioration in the personal computer market in the past couple of months: the company does about 80% of its business in Europe, where the market dies during high summer, and this time, there were virtually no US sales to make up the shortfall; moreover Tandon says that the usual upturn in Europe in September was weaker than usual.
