Tandon Computer yesterday added a 20MHz 80386-based AT-alike with revolutionary means of transferring large amounts of data. The Tandon 386 has 2Mb on the motherboard, a 112Mb 27mS access internal Winchester disk and receptacle for the Tandon Personal Data Pac. The RLL controller board features a built-in 128Kb disk cache, which dramatically reduces access time. The Tandon 386 features an In-PAC receptacle which accommodates Tandon’s Personal Data Pac removable, rugged Winchester drive. A 1.2Mb 5.25 floppy also comes standard.The Tandon 386 will be available in January 1988 and pricing on it will be given at the Comdex Fall show.
