San Jose-based Atalla Corp has announced that its Card Activation and PIN Selection System, CAPS 2000, will now run on all Tandem NonStop computer systems. The Tandem Computers Inc subsidiary claims that the CAPS 2000 system for supporting a network of banking terminals offers a range of enhancements to the previous product, including higher performance, continuous operation and real-time host link interaction; its base configuration includes a Tandem NonStop CLX 620 computer system, Tandem Guardian operating system, Atalla CAPS Application Software and two Atalla CAPS A5 Security Modules, while controllers and add-ons are also available. The $145,000 base package supports up to 240 CAPS in branch terminals; all the CAPS 2000 base package components can be purchased individually.
