TANDEM JAPAN TO SELL THORN EMI’S COLT

By CBR Staff Writer

Following from last week’s story that Stratus Computer is is to sell the COLT Continuous On-Line Trading software from Thorn EMI Software Sciences in Japan, Tandem Japan has announced that it will be selling the Tandem version as TCOLT from June: the software will handle Japanese language processing, and is designed to handle 24-hour global trading; Stratus and Tandem are repeating a pattern of competition in the Japanese market, and as the elder statesman of the fault-tolerant business, Tandem has the most votes – 30 applications available for its NonStops against only 15 so far for the Stratus boxes.
