In only the company’s second ever Russian order, Tandem Computers Inc says it has signed into an agreement, worth a total $2.5m, with the newly-formed Russian commercial MosBusiness Bank. Under the contract, Tandem will supply 200 workstations to be installed at the Russian bank’s 15 Moscow branches. Also brought in on the project is Internet Systems Corp, Chicago, Illinois, which has been signed up to supply the bank with its Atlas software system and banking management consultancy. The final contract will be signed next month and all equipment is to be installed in the middle of the year. The project work is scheduled to kick off this month, to put the new Russian bank into live production by the middle of the year. The bank has a general licence to deal in foreign exchange transactions in Russia and in foreign markets. MosbusinessBank opened for business in January last year and now boasts 1,800 staff and over 40,000 customers. As well as 15 branches in Moscow itself, the fledgling bank has a further 18 offices and agencies across Russia.
