TANDEM COMPUTERS LOOK FOR RECORD EARNINGS

Tandem Computers Inc president and chief executive James Treybig says he is still planning on the company achieving record 1994 earnings, based on strong sales of its new Himalaya computers: Treybig reminded an audience in New York that the company’s highest earnings per share ever were $1.17 – It is our belief that we will surpass that this year, he said; he added that Tandem is planning to trim $200m from expenses in fiscal 1994 and that it is a little ahead of plan.
