Tandberg has extended its Telepresence product line with the launch of Telepresence T1, which it claims will provide the same features as the Telepresence T3, with a smaller footprint, for smaller groups and regional offices.

Hakon Dahle, chief technologist at Tandberg, said: The T1 enables two people to communicate in a true telepresence environment with peers, customers and partners no matter what type of system they use. By integrating the same 65 high-definition display and our signature Nordic blue walls into the smaller room, the consistency of the immersive experience is maintained.”

Mr Dahle also noted that the touch screen interface introduced with the T3 has been adapted for the T1, allowing first time users to be in full control.

According to Tandberg, its telepresence interoperates with the company’s entire product portfolio, Microsoft Office Communications Server, and other standards-based video endpoints and telepresence systems.

Fredrik Halvorsen, CEO of Tandberg, said: We are building upon the great success of our Tandberg Telepresece T3 to deliver a broad range of options to customers who have requested the same high-quality immersive telepresence experience throughout their businesses. Telepresence is a growing market and we intend to capture this opportunity by delivering the most innovative and interoperable products in the industry.
