TALKLAND WARNS CUSTOMERS OF CHEAP CAR-PHONES

By CBR Staff Writer

Talkland Ltd, the one-stop-shop for cellular telephone customers has leapt onto the publicity bandwagon to add its voice to the chorus that is currently berating cowboy retailers for swindling customers: in a circular put out last week, Talkland advises all prospective customers to read the small print carefully, saying things to watch out for are whether dealers charge for actual calls connected or those just dialled, and the fact that lure of a cheap car phone or free installation often goes hand in hand with higher call charges – If excessive billing charges are not stopped, the whole cellular industry will pay the price in reduced growth, the company points out.
