Internet service provider Talk Internet has chosen Brocade, a networking solutions organisation, for a new core network to increase capacity and improve performance to better serve the needs of its customer base.
Talk Internet has deployed Brocade MLX Series routers and Brocade ICX 6450 switches to improve the performance of its existing network, and support the introduction of new technologies such as Multiprotocol Label Switching (MPLS) to allow for more traffic management and increase reliability.
Talk Internet provides businesses with voice and data services such as business broadband, Voice over IP (VoIP), email hosting and Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) trunking.
There has been a high demand from customers for faster broadband connection speeds in order to support their own commercial growth and connection to cloud services, which requires robust, reliable and high performance 24/7 connectivity to ensure access to business-critical data and services quickly and securely. This lead to a requirement for extra capacity to support customers and also to maximise throughput and improve reliability through the introduction of MPLS technology in a cost effective way.
The networking solution from Brocade, based on Brocade MLX routers and ICX switches, will not only support Talk Internet in the running of its day-to-day operations, but will also underpin its capability to provide new services to customers in the future, such as rolling out cloud-based services and virtualised environments.
