IBM Corp’s 150-strong Taligent unit is due to announce a few more licensing deals any day now. It is expected to expand its relationship with Sun Microsystems Inc’s JavaSoft unit in the area of 2D graphics technology, and announce an OEM deal with a major Internet company probably this week. The company says its WebRunner toolkit (CI No 3,133) is meant as a taster for VisualAge for Java, in which WebRunner will be included. WebRunner contains an ActiveX to JavaBean migration tool; JavaBeans wizard and tester, and client and server frameworks – sets of class libraries and sample Java code. WebRunner and the other Taligent products are available in beta versions at http://www.taligent.com
