Advanced Semiconductor Engineering Inc of Taiwan has signed a letter of intent with Motorola Inc to acquiring the US firm’s integrated assembly/testing plants in Chungli, northern Taiwan and Paju, South Korea. The two plants should be able to boost ASE’s annual sales by at least $300m, a company executive said.
