The company’s Medio L400 device monitors nine functions, including temperature and digital output load, for item-level RFID tagging.

The device would also be compatible with the forthcoming EPCglobal RFID standard, HF Version 2, via a firmware upgrade, said the company. HH V2 is slated to be ratified by the standards body in early 2008.

Medio L400 was designed for noisy environments such as manufacturing plants and distribution facilities.

The company will also today announce its ‘Path to V2’ program, which is a collaboration with its work on new products and services to help customers migrate to HF V2.

Tagsys and IBM, for example, will announce a Serialization Pilot Kit for pharmaceutical makers to help customers with initiating their mass serialization efforts in advance of HF V2 requirements. The kit includes 50,000 tags to reader systems, software, and Tagsys and IBM services to roll out the RFID system.
