TADPOLE TECHNOLOGY INTRODUCES LOW-COST VMEBUS TRANSPUTER ENVIRONMENT

By CBR Staff Writer

Tadpole Technology has introduced a Transputer systems card, the Transputer Systems Controller, based on the Inmos T414/T800 combination. Tadpole’s implementation differs from the boards on offer from Inmos in that it has a VME interface where the Inmos version is simply in VME format. Tadpole will offer the system as a main system processor, a specialised accelerator within existing systems, or as a Transputer development environment running in conjunction with Unix. The Cambridge company expects to gather the most interest from people wanting to evaluate the Transputer environment without incurring large costs. The Transputer Systems Controller is available in single units at a price of UKP3,175, and discounts are available for quantity orders.
