SYTEK TO PROVIDE SECURE LAN FOR THE US ARMY PROJECT 80X

Sytek Inc, Mountain View, California supplier of IBM’s broadband PC Network, has been chosen by IBM’s Federal Systems Division to provide a secure local area network for the US Army Project 8OX – Phase II contract on which IBM is a subcontractor: it will last nine and a half years and will provide a complete upgrade to the hardware, software and telecommunications equipment used by the Army to manage military personnel records and assignments worldwide, and Sytek’s LocalNet 2000 will link more than 2,000 IBM Personals and PS/2 in three cities – Alexandria, Virginia; St Louis, Missouri and Indianapolis, Indiana.
