SYSTEMS DESIGNERS TO SUPPLY UK AIRPORTS WITH COMPUTER-BASED BRIEFING SYSTEM

By CBR Staff Writer

Systems Designers Plc has won a UKP1.5m contract to provide a computer-based briefing system for civil aviation pilots at 12 UK airports and three Civil Aviation Authority centres: the database will use the Informix 4GL relational database management system and run on a configuration of five DEC MicroVAX 3500 processors forming the central database, with a number of Olivetti M380T 80386 micros at the airport outstations; it is due to go into operation at the 15 centres for a three month trial in April of 1989.
