SYSTEMS DESIGNERS HAS CONTRACT FROM THE GERMAN WEATHER SERVICE

Systems Designers Plc is celebrating a contract to supply the German Weather Service, based in Offenbach, with Autocom IV software to connect its Control Data Cyber 205 scientific forecasting supercomputer to the World Meterological Organisation’s Global Telecommunications System at a cost of around ?2.3m: Autocom IV will replace the existing communications system and by the end of 1989 links will have been installed from the Cyber 205 and X.25 network at Offenbach to other met offices in Europe; Systems Designers is looking to do similar deals in other countries but has no definite plans as yet.
