SYSTEM SOFTWARE JOINS HEWLETT-PACKARD ON APPLICATIONS FOR UNIX

By CBR Staff Writer

Underlining how far it is diversifying from its core business in the IBM Corp AS/400 software world, System Software Associates Inc, Chicago has now formed a strategic alliance with Hewlett-Packard Co to connect software systems for clients’ business operations, manufacturing and financial reporting worldwide. The pair also announced a multi-million dollar contract to integrate Dragoco AG’s operations in 24 countries, but gave no further details. Hewlett has been helping System Software to convert its BPCS/AS enterprise applications, written for OS/400, to run under HP-UX Unix on HP 9000 series 800 servers since last year.
