Regional software house System Soft Corp of Fukuoka is planning a franchise chain of 50 Parcway shops around Japan, which will specialise exclusively in Apple Computer products: System Soft signed a distributor agreement with Apple Computer Japan in spring last year, and has opened four shops since then, in Fukuoka, Kurumai, Kumamoto and Tokyo, and it wants to franchise the rest; System Soft made its name in the computer games market, but will now concentrate on creating Japanese versions of business software for the Macintosh and the Apple II; Canon Inc has been the only Apple distributor, selling the machines alongside its own products, whereas the Parcway stores will offer only Apple products.
