Laurel, Maryland-based RBIS serves the federal market, particularly the defense and intelligence sectors. The company pulled in $8.4m in revenue last year. In a statement, SYS CEO Cliff Cooke said RBIS’ offerings would improve the security features of the company’s widening range of emergency response and video surveillance offerings.
We believe RBIS Ltd’s market position is strong and sustainable because of a combination of properly cleared personnel, relationship-driven procurement and intensive government oversight which represent high barriers to entry, Cooke added.
San Diego-based SYS provides sensor capture, wireless communications, applications development and integrations, visualization, and asset management for the Departments of Defense and Homeland Security, as well as the commercial sector.
