San Jose, California-based Symmetricom bought QoSmetrics for its service assurance products used by IPTV network operators and triple play telco service providers.
The company provides a broad portfolio of tools that help companies to measure key IP network performance metrics and monitor VoIP and video-based data streams.
QoSmetrics’ technology is thought to be complementary to Symmetricom’s precise frequency and timing distribution products and network time servers used by so called next generation networks that carry a tripe load of voice, video and data.
QoSmetrics extends our market leadership into the emerging quality of experience market [in telecoms] … including issues surrounding the delivery of multimedia services over converged IP infrastructures, said Tom Steipp, CEO of Symmetricom.
QoSmetrics was founded in 1999 and maintains dual headquarters in Paris, France and Camarillo, California.
