Symbolics Inc has its first order for Framethrower, the new three-dimensional graphics system launched in the US last month (CI No 1,391). The company has signed a UKP200,000 deal with Complete Video Ltd, a London-based facilities house. It comprises a 3650 colour graphics workstation, the latest release of Symbolics Paint and Animation software, and XL Animation with Framethrower. Symbolics says that Framethrower is the industry’s first commercially available high-definition videographics processor. It is designed to merge computer and high resolution video graphics, and the architecture facilitates real-time merging. Complete Video says that the new systems will enable it to become a one-stop shop offering two-dimensional modelling, digital editing, and three-dimensional editing.
