The company, which is 48% owned by the world’s biggest handset maker Nokia, shipped 20.4 million units of its operating system in the quarter. Revenue rose 30% to about $109.1m from about $83.9m a year ago.

Our licensees, the world’s leading handset manufacturers, have now shipped 165 million Symbian smartphones cumulatively and are benefiting from the performance and features of Symbian OS, said Symbian chief executive Nigel Clifford, in a statement.
