Cupertino, California-based Symantec was joined by equity investment firms First Capital Group and Castletop Capital in the latest funding round. All three were also involved in a $10.4m Series B investment in SecureLogix that closed in February 2002.

Founded in 1998 by data and voice security specialists from US Air Force Information Warfare Center and Ernst & Young LLP’s security practice, SecureLogix focuses on the protection of enterprise telecom and data networks from modem-based attacks.

The San Antonio, Texas-based company’s ETM (Enterprise Telephony Management) System has capabilities for PBX-independent traffic logging, resource utilization reporting and real-time monitoring of voice systems. The company is also working on extending its capabilities to handle voice over IP.
