Sybase Inc treasurer Katherine Nyrop told the conference that the company is comfortable with Wall Street estimates that put its first quarter earnings at $0.27 a share, adding that the recent mean estimate of $0.31 a share does not reflect Sybase’s recently completed acquisition of PowerSoft Corp. Some analysts haven’t changed their model for the PowerSoft acquisition, Ms Nyrop told Reuters following her presentation at the conference. However, Sybase is still comfortable it will meet its goal of earning $1.85 a share for the full 1995 year, she said. Sybase has said it expects dilution of $0.02 to $0.03 a share in each of the first two quarters from PowerSoft, which would be offset by earnings gain in the second half, and she stands by that.
