Sybase Inc will try to make more of a mark in the middleware market as it moves to shake the mantle of being a relational database vendor, with the release before the end of this year of its Middleware Studio – which will include and add to its existing open server and replication server. The company was shady on details about the middleware tools bundle it will release before the end of the year, but says other new releases, this time early next year will include Vineyard, an update to its Enterprise Application Studio, and tools to enable developers to run old Powerbuilder applications on the company’s newer Jaguar server for web applications.
