Database vendor Sybase Inc said yesterday that it has integrated business intelligence software from MicroStrategy Inc into its customer relationship management product under a new licensing agreement. MicroStrategy’s Intelligent E-Business software suite comprises tools which enable companies to visualize – in graph, tables charts and so on – the results of their data analyses to make it easier to understand.

Under the terms of the multi-year licensing deal, Sybase’s CRM and business performance management applications (which fall within Sybase’s Industry Warehouse Studios) will now come pre-integrated with MicroStrategy’s software enabling users to import customer-centric data from Sybase’s applications into the visualization suite. Financial details of the agreement were not disclosed, but a company statement valued the deal in millions of dollars. The Industry Warehouse Studios will have five analytical CRM applications – sales, loyalty, campaign, customer profiling and customer care – and one industry-specific component, Sybase said, and the studios will be targeted at different vertical industries including heath care; property, telecommunications and retail banking.

Pricing for the software, which will be available beginning the first quarter of 2000 on Unix and Windows NT platforms, will start at $100,000, Sybase said.
