Sybase and SAP team on RFID middleware

Sybase Inc said it has inked a deal with SAP AG on a joint global initiative to integrate the two company's RFID middleware.

By CBR Staff Writer

Sybase’s RFID Anywhere 2.0 security-based middleware has been certified to work with SAP’s Auto-ID Infrastructure middleware, which integrates RFID tag data into enterprise applications. Sybase becomes one of the first middleware vendors to have its RFID software integrate with SAP, Sybase said.

Dublin, California-based Sybase said it would work with SAP to sell the combo offering, which the companies call production-grade RFID software.

The combined software promises to make it quicker and easier for an enterprise to implement an RFID system. End-users are expected to have easier access to and a better ability to manage collected data from various RFID devices.

Financial details of the deal were not disclosed.
