Sword Group, which has 1,200 employees providing consulting and software services to sectors including financial services and oil and gas, will pay a cash sum for Glasgow-based Real Time, which has 140 employees and sales of 14m pounds ($27m).

Real Time provides consulting and software engineering services to clients in the government, oil and gas, and aviation sectors, including Centrica, BAA and BP. Sword, which is based in Lyon, grew sales by 29% last year to 101.5m euros ($131m).
