SWISS PTT’s MONOPOLY ONLY FOR FIRST TELEPHONE – SUBSEQUENT PHONES MAY BE SOLD BY OTHER SUPPLIERS

The cautious Swiss are taking a step towards liberalising the telecommunications market, next year mimicing the rule brought in in the UK at the start of the decade, that the PTT’s supply monopoly would extend only to the first telephone, with domestic and foreign companies free to sell subsequent phones.
