Everday.com, the Swedish web portal, is to open French and Dutch sites under a deal with telephony provider Societe Europeene de Communication SA (SEC), the companies said yesterday. SEC will be responsible for launching and operating the portal in the two countries as part of a franchise agreement between the companies signed September. Under this deal, SEC already operates subscription-free internet access to users of the Swedish portal.

Everyday is a joint venture between media group Modern Times Group MTG AB and NetCom AB, a Scandinavian internet service provider. SEC is an association of Swedish group Industriforevaltnings AB Kinnevik, the Stockholm-based operator of fixed, mobile and internet services, and Millicom International Cellular SA, a Luxembourg-based company with licenses in various countries. SEC owns just under 25% of NetCom ASA, NetCom ABÆs Norwegian operation.
