Interactive 3D software developer Superscape has announced that it is developing a new CD-ROM title for Lego’s software division, Lego Media International under an agreement worth an initial $800,000. The product, Lego Creator, was previewed at last week’s E3 exhibition in the US, and will be on the shelves in time for Christmas. Ian Andrew, Superscape’s president, says that although all the company’s development tools such as VRT were used to design Lego Creator, the project represented a significant amount of custom development work. Lego Creator allows children to build and explore virtual worlds using 3D Lego bricks on their PCs. It follows Lego Media International’s first PC-based product, Lego Island, which was launched last October. The company will also release two other titles this Christmas, Lego Chess and Lego Loco, both of which were developed independently of Superscape.
