Oslo-based SuperOffice Norge AS is setting out to prove that the whole world doesn’t have to be conquered by Microsoft Corp’s Office software. The company, run by president Gunnar Larsson and CEO and chairman Une Amundsen, is on track to end its 1998 financial year with some 95,000 users and revenues equivalent to $13m, a 44% hike over the previous year. SuperOffice, which runs on both the Windows and Macintosh machines, does not go head-to- head with Microsoft Office, however. Instead it provides a set of information management tools covering contact, schedule and task management, which can link into Office and other application suites. The 90-strong company, with offices in Scandinavia, the UK, Germany and the Czech Republic, now also has offices in the US, based in Bedford, Massachusetts. It has cooperative deals with IBM Corp in selected European markets.
