SunView Software, a provider of IT service management software, has released a change and configuration management product ChangeGear 4.5, which it claims to enhance the power of workflows, extend the use of the web-based Configuration Management Database (CMDB), and introduces dynamic request automation.
SunView said that the dynamic request automation combines forms authoring, advanced workflows, automated notifications and multi-level approvals to enable handling of requests initiated by staff or other systems.
The company claims that the new approach makes easier to define processes that include alternate forms and branched workflows that can be initiated from portals, email systems, monitoring systems, or from within the application. In addition, it simplifies change and configuration management by giving customers a web-based platform that includes the ability to perform drag and drop customisation.
According to SunView, the configuration-auditing capabilities of RDE has been extended to scan and discover virtual and physical infrastructure to collect configuration information including open ports, software configurations and running processes.
In addition, the designer tool enables customers to add new asset types such as documents, people, equipment and other assets for managing risk in the organisation.
Seng Sun, CEO of SunView Software, said: Our customers are facing unprecedented pressure to establish IT controls across the enterprise to improve security, reduce costs, and meet regulatory compliance. This release demonstrates our continued commitment to deliver cost-effective solutions for automating IT controls and simplifying the adoption of IT service management best practices.
