Although two of the proposed deadlines, which the company was reported to be shooting for, have already been and gone, SunSoft Inc’s vice-president of sales and marketing, Bill Larson, says the Sun subsidiary is guardedly optimistic that the acquisition of much of Interactive Systems Corp will go through by the end of the year. Sources suggest the delay concerns the team line-up – who is in and who gets left out – although present at a SunSoft briefing in London last week was Interactive’s European boss, Doug Millar, who looks as if he will get a seat on the coach. SunSoft will be based at Interactive Systems’ European headquarters in High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire, and the company says it will open offices in Paris and Munich next year. It will gain Spanish, Italian, Swedish and East European distribution outlets from the tie-up with Interactive; another in Australia has been lined up, and SunSoft is also reported to be in talks with a would-be distribution partner in India.
