SunSoft Inc is preparing a new business unit – the Network Security Product group – which will be run by general manager Humphrey Polanen, the former general manager of its Internet commerce group. Several existing product teams are being merged to form the new division: the Internet commerce group responsible for the SunScreen and SKIP Simple Key Management for Internet Protocol products; the Firewall-1, Sectool, Dynasoft, and personal computer SKIP product teams; as well as a team working on the Java security architecture for Solstice. The idea is to consolidate Solstice and Internet commerce group security efforts and define a single security strategy.
