Sunrise Telecom has released a Fibre Channel testing capability for the STT Metro. Fibre Channel technology is used to connect storage area network services for transactional business operations such as banks, transportation and e-commerce.
The company claims with Fibre Channel service providers can test up to four ports simultaneously, speeding up the deployment of storage area networks (SANs). Sunrise Telecom’s system allows the technician to verify the service level agreement, and to perform testing through the switching fabric.
Sunrise claims that STT Metro is suited for troubleshooting problems such as transactional failures in signal and application levels. With the packet capture and decode feature, the STT Metro can analyse each packet, allowing users to pinpoint problems quickly. With the buffer credit optimisation feature, the test set will pre-determine the buffer credit allocation required.

STT Metro reduces capital expenditures and simplifies testing by providing multi-service verification for SAN and LAN deployment in one single portable unit.
