Adding to its growing collection of esoteric applications for financial institutions, disaster recovery specialist SunGard Data Systems Inc, Wayne, Pennsylvania has agreement in principle to acquire Global Plus and other assets of the Premier Solutions Ltd, a subsidiary of Safeguard Scientifics Inc also based in Wayne. Terms of the deal were not disclosed. Global Plus is a realtime multi-currency trust and custody accounting system for financial institutions. Other Premier products to be acquired are the InfoHarbor data depository and information delivery tool for asset management, and the NIDS product line, which has portfolio management, wrap-fee, mutual-fund and shareholder accounting modules. Premier also offers high-level processed re-engineering consulting through its CogniSource.
