Sun Microsystems Inc has been encouraging data warehousing tools vendors to write their tools in Java, and was keen to showcase some 100% pure Java certified data warehousing products at the Data Warehouse World show in Florida. The functionality of the various tools, all internet and intranet-enabled, spans what Sun sees as the three basic components of data warehousing: data extraction, data storage and data access. They included Andyne Computer Ltd’s GQL Reports, Arbor Software Corp’s Wired for OLAP 3.0, InfoSpace Inc’s SpaceOLAP Designer, InterNetivity Inc’s dProbe 2.0, IQ Software Inc’s IQ/WebReports 1.0, Seagate Software Inc’s Crystal Reports 6.0 and Smartviewer for Java, Sqribe Technologies Inc’s PowerSqribe 1.0, Telran Technologies Inc’s Telran System 1.5 and Zanza Software Inc’s Zanza Web Reports.
