Sun Microsystems Inc has won a $4m contract with Caisse des Depots & Consignations, a banking and financial organisation headquartered in Paris: Sun has equipped the interest rate trading room with 30 Sparc servers and 67 Sparcstation 1+ workstations running Teknekron Software Systems Inc’s trading software, which integrates market data and real-time trading applications on the desktop; client workstations are connected to servers that store financial market information and perform analysis, and each trader uses a Sparcstation 1+ equipped with dual 19 monitors which enables a trader to work within several windows on one monitor, while viewing financial information being updated in windows.
