The latest issue of Red Herring magazine suggests that Sun Microsystems Inc may be re-evaluating a bid for Apple Computer Inc. Apple spurned Sun’s $23-a-share offer last year. The magazine says chief executive Scott McNealy asked his executive team if they thought Sun should make a large acquisition this year and they told him yes. Apple’s board and key shareholders are again seen as the stumbling block which would prevent such an acquisition. Apple’s stock closed at $15.50 on Monday night.
