Sun Microsystems Inc and Control Data Corp’s Micrognosis Inc developer and manufacturer of systems for dealing rooms are celebrating the fact that Micrognosis’ trading floor system based on Sun’s Sparcstation 1 Unix machine has just gone live at Mitsubishi Bank, the world’s fourth largest: the system was installed by Telecomet International Inc and is the largest in Japan, using more than 300 Sun workstations to automate Mitsubishi’s Tokyo trading floor; the system integrates digital and video information from several external and internal sources on a single workstation, and all the software for the system was enhanced to do Japanese language processing.
