SUN HAD BID FOR MICROSOFT’S LATEST BUY, COOPER & PETERS

Sun Microsystems Inc had put in a bid to acquire Java company Cooper & Peters Inc, according to the Wall Street Journal, but withdrew once Microsoft Corp showed an interest. Microsoft acquired the firm last Friday (CI No 3,182).
