SUN EXTENDS INTERNAL E-COMMERCE SYSTEM

Sun Microsystems Inc is supposedly building out its internal e- commerce system, called eSun, to encompass suppliers, customers and its own sales force by extending the SunPeak Oracle Financials system it is now running the company on. Merrill Lynch & Co says each group will eventually have its own customized view of order, shipping, billing, support and other information. It supposed to help Sun reduce costs all around. Sun is estimated to be selling over $100m in servers to e-commerce companies.
