SUN CLAIMS NO 2 SPOT IN UK FOR UNIX MID-RANGE SERVERS

The latest Dataquest Inc figures for the first quarter of 1997 show Sun Microsystems Inc is now the number two supplier in the UK Unix mid-range server market, with a 26.2% share. Buoyed up by orders from the likes of Tokyo Mitsubishi International and BSkyB, Sun says it expects to overtake Hewlett-Packard Co, which has a 27.4% market share, in the near future.
