Sun also Netdisk, describing it as a standard way to connect a diskless workstation or personal computer to any server on the network in a multi-vendor environment. Netdisk is included in SunOS release 4.0 and in the ONC/NFS 4.0 Open Network Computing/Network File System software. The new release also improves system throughout and has a new virtual memory management system. It will ship with all Sun systems from May.
