SUGAR COMMENTS ON DIXONS’ PLANS TO OFFER OLIVETTI PC1

Alan Sugar certainly has a way with words, and his bon mot for the Financial Times on being asked to comment on Dixons Group Plc’s plans to offer the bottom-end PC1 from Olivetti’s Prodest International SpA (CI No 720) alongside the Amstrad PC1640 and 1512 in its stores was to dismiss the Italian machine as a pregnant calculator, and no threat to his lead in the market.
