SUCCESSOR TO AT&T NETWORK NOTES DETAILED

By CBR Staff Writer

AT&T Corp has fine-tuned its Internet strategy saying it would integrate a new release of IBM Corp’s Lotus Notes server software, 4.2, with its Internet offerings. AT&T said that the attraction of the new Network Notes server is that it will not be proprietary as Network Notes is, but open to all; Notes Server 4.2 will be available in the third quarter and will be used for electronic commerce, marketing and publishing as well as collaborative services; AT&T will also accelerate deployment of Notes in its internal management systems, and work with IBM and Lotus to develop Notes-based systems for use by itself and by other network operating companies.
