NetSuite has announced the findings of new research conducted by YouGov, which indicates that approximately three quarters of business leaders using Sage business software report having to access their business information from a desktop PC with client software installed.

This equates to 22% of ERP decision makers using Sage, being constrained to PCs which is a higher percentage than those using every other business software surveyed in the report. Only 13% of Sage customers say they’re able to access their software through a browser, less than half the average for all other software users surveyed in the report combined.

In a competitive global economy where mobility is a necessity for business and finance leaders, solutions which are unable to provide access via the cloud seriously constrain operations and ultimately business growth.

NetSuite enables businesses to transform their performance by taking their systems online. Its solutions let businesses manage their operations end-to-end with one integrated application – from accounting, inventory, sales, customer support and ecommerce.

Pete Daffern, president of NetSuite EMEA & EVP of Verticals, said: "Putting your business in the cloud is a clear-cut route to improve efficiency. To maximise the rewards, finance leaders working to drive dynamic, fast-growth businesses shouldn’t just be thinking of online access via the cloud, but of driving further mobility benefits via smartphone and tablet applications, and ensuring their finance leads have access to real-time business insight and can therefore be productive wherever they are."

Pedro Muller, strategy director of The Superyacht Group, comments on accessing NetSuite from his iPhone: "I’m often out of the office at industry events or travelling and NetSuite gives me anytime, anywhere access to our core business systems including critical commercial data, freeing me from a desktop and helping me to manage business effectively on the move. Mobile access has helped increase our sales force’s productivity by 80 percent, thanks to the constant availability to real-time data for key clients."
