Stripe, a mobile card payment app, has been launched in the UK.
Stripe’s launch gives UK businesses a simple way to accept payments online, replacing legacy merchant processors and banks.
Stripe has already achieved significant scale in the US and Canada, processing millions of dollars each day for companies including Heroku, Foursquare, Evite, Grooveshark and Reddit.

Businesses can accept all major card types including Visa, MasterCard and American Express, while retaining full control over the checkout experience on their website. For the first time, Stripe is launching support for multiple currencies: UK users can charge in USD, GBP and EUR immediately. Pricing in the UK starts at 2.4% + £0.20 per transaction + VAT, with volume discounts available upon request.
